Jet boil

My best 2005 Backpacking purchase

www.jetboil.com 79.99 ( $59 on sale at REI) just released Pot Stabilizer $19.99 from REI.com (stores don't have it yet 5/24/05) Pot Stabilizer allows you to use whatever pot/pan you want.

Make sure you buy fuel cartridges that fit in stove. This stove boils water faster than my gas stove at home! And can cook meals in the palm of your hands.

I cooked up a hot meal at a Grand Canyon rest stop in < 5 minutes including
set up/cleanup *you should have seen the looks on the 40 year old women as the aroma from
my deyhdrated eggs omelet was ready.

Here's a great dish on the fly.
Couscous is made of pre-cooked semolina wheat and rehydrates almost
instantly, making it one of the very best bases for lightweight eating. You
can find it in the bulk food or imported foods section of the supermarket.
2 cups water
chicken bouillon cube
1 cup couscous
4 oz. can chicken
Add water and bouillon cube to the cooking cup. Bring to a boil. Add
couscous and turn off burner. Cover and wait about five minutes for couscous
to absorb water. Add chicken and mix it into the couscous.

Bet you haven't heard this one yet

“For behold, at that day shall he [meaning Satan] rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good” (2 Nephi 28:20).  The Lord told us in the time of the Prophet Joseph that war would be poured out upon all nations. We see tragic fulfillment of that prophecy, bringing with it increased suffering to the innocent. The giant earthquake, and the tsunamis it sent crashing into the coasts around the Indian Ocean, is just the beginning and a part of what is to come, terrible as it was. . .

U2 and Joshua Tree

I still haven't found what I'm looking for

The famous song inspired by an introspective Bono in response to his unsettled questions about religion. A Byu philosophy Proffesor, Mr. Wrathall, asserts that U2 has gone through several stages of faith which can be charted through their music. While U2 began as a Christian rock band, on their epic 1987 album The Joshua Tree they began to sincerely question whether that otherworldly faith could fully complete a person. In their hit "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," Bono wrote that "[Christ] broke the bonds and [he] loosed the chains/ Carried the cross of my shame . . . you know I believe it / But I still haven't found what I'm looking for." This doubt about the ultimate satisfaction of pure spiritual devotion led U2 to conclude that they were missing something essential by ignoring their passionate side, Wrathall says. http://byunews.byu.edu/archive05-Mar-wrathall.aspx

I heard it once said that SUCCESS for MEN is finding your WORTHINESS, WORK, WIFE and in loving all three. These are what I am looking for. . and to paraphrase GI JOE ... "knowing what you are looking for is half the battle."
